Adequate-Inadequate

From The Practical Ontology & Compendium of Social Cohesion

Definition: As used herein, Adequacy refers to a state of balance (Inadequacy the absence of such balance) between a Problem and its Solution such that the Undesirable Aspect of Reality that was problematic no longer exists. Adequate-Inadequate-Commentary A mother nursing her baby often demonstrates Adequacy. The baby has a Problem. It is hungry. The baby cries. The mother has a Problem, too. Her breasts feel engorged, and she is stressed by the baby crying. Responding to both signals, the mother nurses the baby. Problems solved. All's right with the world. That's Adequacy. An Adequate Solution is not too little and not too much. It is just right. Last revised: 12-22-12
