Definition: As used herein, the Helping Professions refers to those industries – government, nonprofit, and for-profit, religious and secular - that employ individuals who provide face-to-face assistance to men, women, and children regarding their well-being. Such employees include civil servants, teachers, nurses, doctors, social workers, first responders, priests, nuns, and the like.
