Household

From The Practical Ontology & Compendium of Social Cohesion

Definition: As used herein, Household refers to one or more Persons (Housemates) who live in a residence and routinely help one another Solve Problems. Other residents who do not routinely help are either Freeloaders unwilling to help or Dependents unable to help. A Household includes relatives "by blood or marriage" and Friends, too, who reside nearby outside the given residence but who are routinely available to help Solve Problems. They are part of the Extended Household. A Household (or an Extended Household) is the smallest Problem-Solving unit. The OC uses "Household" and its related terms rather than "family" and its related terms such as "husband" and "wife."
