Premise

Definition: As used herein, Premise has two meanings. In the first sense, Premise refers to an explicit or implicit Proposition deemed True. The assumed Truth of a Premise is necessary for a Topic to be viable in a Conversation. In the second sense, Premise refers to the Propositions of an Argument from which the Conclusion supposedly follows.
